Last weekend, My sweety and a had another visit to Lake Como.
As some of you were wondering, yes, this picture is taken at our wedding location!
This is the garden where we will be holding our ceremony and this is the view we'll be having. Doesn't it look like a dream?
Now, let's hope the weather will be as good as this day... Keeping our fingers crossed!

We still had A LOT of things to do (and still have...), so we were very happy we could finalize some things during the weekend. This weekend, we are having our last visit before the wedding! You can follow my story on Instagram (@ankatrien) and Snapchat (@teacups_dresses)
I must say, it's kind of making me long for it more and more every day :)

Some of you might know I'm a last minute person (and I don't mind, being too organized is never good and very stressful and I always get to manage things in time anyways haha!)

Already very close to due date, we still have so much to do, but we can see the pieces of the puzzle falling into place right now.
This weekend, we confirmed our wedding party location, catering planning, hair stylists, make-up artists, music, second hotel and discussed the final details with our location owners. #pfieeeeeew
And next to that, we had a little chill time by the pool and at Como!

Can't wait to give you our last update in 2 weeks!
Keep you posted loves -xx-

The first part of our romantic journey

Hi you guys!

Yesterday, my HUSBAND (oh my, this still sounds so freakin' weird!) and I got married by law!
We did this a bit early comparing to our party at lake Como, because we just couldn't wait that long haha :) And that way, I had a lame excuse to be the lucky girl with 2 amazing dresses hah!

We had a wonderful day with family and friends. Starting at the city hall and finishing at our own place with a cosy dinner and drinks afterwards.

saying yes at the city hall

It's a good thing the city hall contract signing procedure doesn't last long, because it's boring. But hey, we had a good time (as you can see).

cosy dinner at our place

We had a cosy dinner at our place afterwards, with catering my mother and sister in law arranged for us. My mom took care of the cutest name cards, as she has had surgery a few weeks ago and couldn't really do a lot. I'm glad she's doing much better now!
We had a lovely time and would like to thank everyone for being there!
And a very special thanks to my mother and sister in law for their perfect catering service :) They did such an amazing job!

Hi you guys!

It's been a while since I wrote something about our wedding. So it was about damn time I did something about that :)

Some of you might have seen my Instagram pictures this summer while I was visiting Italy.
Well, we didn't just visit Italy for fun, we also went there to discuss our wedding plans with the Villa where we are going to get married.

Yes, you heard me, Italy. Isn't that amazingly romantic? We both love Italy so much and there's this one place that makes both of our hearts skip a beat (or two/three): LAKE COMO

Anyone remember these pictures? They were both taken at the villa where we are getting married. The villa is called Villa Vittoria. A very cosy hotel with 13 very nicely decorated rooms. Because you know, in Italy, it is very hard to find non-kitch decorated hotels (no offense, but really,...). But this hotel has such a cosy rooms, it made us feel at home instantly!
If you're ever planning on visiting Lake Como, I would totally recommend this hotel! It's super cosy and not like all the other bigger hotels.

The proposal

On this page, I will share our wedding preparations and plans until our actual wedding. Me and my fiancé are engaged since Februari this year and we're getting married in July 2015. Yeah, I know, quite the time between the proposal and the actual wedding. Why? Curious? I will tell you in one of my next posts ;)

Let's start at the beginning :)

In februari, right after my exams, we went to New York for a (short) 2 weeks visit. And yes, we kind of already talked about getting married during the summer of 2013, but we didn't really settle a date or anything.

What I didn't know, is that my (then still) boyfriend, was carrying an engagement ring with him all the time. And what's even more surprisingly shocking: my uncle (who is a goldsmith) made the engagement ring! So it's a pièce unique (love it!).

So the first days we walked around (and shopped A LOT) in New York city, neither of us had visited the city before so it was very exciting for us :)

some of our pictures in New York :)
The third day of our stay, we planned on going to Central Park. But that day, it was snowing like never before...
I thought it wasn't such a good plan to go to the park that day, but Dries insisted on going. AWKWARD.
That morning, during breakfast (chocolate & blueberry muffin), he wanted to go check in our room if the vault was closed properly. EVEN MORE AWKWARD.

He was walking around like he didn't know what to do, like he forgot something. And then, off we went, to central park, through the snow, through the wind,...

Right before entering the park, I really wanted coffee, because I was cold. Dries wasn't that happy about that. AWKWAAAAARD :) He wanted to head to the park as fast as possible. And in that very moment, where he doubted about getting coffee, I knew.

He was acting way too mysterious. All of a sudden I realised he was going to propose. It had to be...
Because I supspected him of asking me later on, I sipped my coffee in the slowest way ever (haha!), just to double check. Oh my, how I loved his face, all nervous :)

After a bit of chillin, warming up and sipping coffee way too slowly, we started our walk into Central Park.
It was so beautiful! Because of the snow, there wasn't anybody visiting the park and it was all fairy kind of things!

All of a sudden, we arrived at the lake in the middle of the park. He stopped. We were both quiet. He looked at me. And inside, I started panicking a little bit.

He looked at me with those "so in love, when he first met me, staring" eyes. And he hugged me and popped the question. Out of the blue, without a ring, a bit confused haha!

My first reaction was "no no nooooo" because I was a bit in shock, but right after that came the magical word YES :) So then he took out the ring, went on his knees and put it around my finger. It was so cute!

This is the place where it all happened :)
As you can see it was snowing quite hard and there was no one in the neighbourhood (except for our photographer hah!)

Story to be continued...
